Job description

Kookaburra Playgroup is a small family run playgroup, situated behind the scout hut on Hills Farm Lane. Open Monday - Friday 8.30-3.30pm, term time only (open for 38 weeks of the year), catering for children aged 1-5 years.

We are looking for a fun and enthusiastic person to come and join our friendly team of 4 practitioners. Must be level 2 or 3 qualified in Early Years Childcare, and have a full and relevant qualification to be counted in ratios.

Position: Five full days a week from 8.30-4.30pm would also consider part time positions.

We have good transport links (plenty of bus stops within walking distance) and we are close to the town centre. Pension scheme available and lots of tea and coffee provided at work.

Qualifications and Skills

• Level 2 or 3 practitioner required, with a recognised qualification in Early Years essential.
• Experience with under 5's desirable.
• Training: Child Protection, Food Hygiene, and First Aid training can be arranged.
• Subject to an enhanced DBS check.

The right candidate must have:

• Good communication skills.
• Be able to work well within a team and on own.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures followed by the playgroup.
• Good knowledge of the EYFS essential. We follow the Birth to Five curriculum.
